DAY 01 | : | Arrive Manikaran (1737 mts) and check in hotel. |
| DAY 02 | : | MANIKARAN TO KHIR GANGA (2960 mts): Starting from Manikaran, we take a jeep ride to the village call Bersani and further down to the brige where there is a hydro electric project under construction. From here we start our hike to Khir ganga which is a place of Sulfur spring. It can take us 4-5 hours to get there through local villages and nice deodar forest. |
DAY 03 | : | KHIR GANGA TO BHOJTUNDA (3285 mts): From the camp there is a steady ascent out of the gorge. The valley then widens and the trail crosses several delightful pastures supporting a variety of wildflowers in the summer. Bhojtunda is at the height of 3200m.marks the lower limit of the silver birch trees. It can take us 5-6 hours to get to this camping site. |
DAY 04 | : | BHOJTUNDA TO THAKUERKUAN (3560 mts): Today includes two river crossings by a pulley bridge over Parwati river. Average walking time is 5 to 6 hours. |
DAY 05 | : | THAKURKUAN TO UDDI/ BAKKAR THACH (3850 mts): A few km up the valley from Thakur kuan, affords the first view of the snow- capped peaks in the vicinity of the Pin Parwati Pass. The trail leads down the to the Parwati river. Just above this crossing is the Pandu bridge, another natural rock bridge over the Parwati River. To reach Bakkar thach, it is gradual ascent though large grassy fields. Average walking time is 5 to 6 hours. |
DAY 06 | : | BAKKAR THACH TO MANTALAI LAKE (4116 mts): Most of the walk of today is a gradual ascent except last part of 200m climb to reach Mantalai. Mantalai is a source of Parwati River and also a pilgrimage for local people of the area. Average walking time is 5 to 6 hours. |
DAY 07 | : | LAY OVER DAYIt is day to relax and acclimatize here with the altitude. |
DAY 08 | : | MANTALAI TO HIGH CAMP (4573 mtrs): It is a 300 m climb out of the main valley floor to the high camp. The climb affords a bird’s eye view of the Parwati valley, and directly below, the Parwati River Gushes out of the main Glacier. The peaks on the far side of the valley also come in to full view-including Pyramid peak (6036m), Snow Peak (5640m) and the unnamed peak (6127m),the highest in the region. There are magnificent views of the surrounding peaks from the high camp including those on the far side of the Parwati Valley. Average walking time is 6 – 7 hours. |
DAY 09 | : | HIGH CAMP TO PIN PARWATI PAAS (5319 mts) AND TO PIN VALLEY CAMP (4050 mtrs): From the high camp, there is steep 200mascent over the boulders to a large snow field below the Passover the pass there is alpine view to the snow-capped ranges towards the Kullu Valley contrast with the barren mountain ridges. The descent form the pass to grassy camp site is gradual over the snow field and steep on rocky trail. After reaching the base at Pin River, trail is pretty easy with gradual ups and downs and few side streams crossings. To reach our camp site walk will include few side streams crossings. Average walking time is 6-7 hours. |
DAY 10 | : | PIN VALLEY CAMP TO MUD ( 3811 mts): Totally different view in this valley comparing to Parwati valley. There are some side streams to cross .Camp site of Mud is just before the main village and average walking time is 6 to 7 hours. |
DAY 11 | : | MUD TO KAZA (3600 mts): Start the day early to catch the around 9 or 10am from Mud as mud is on road head now. Drive takes us out of pin valley through villages of this valley. Sagnam is the largest village in the Pin valley. It can take us 3 to 4 hours to reach Kaza in Spiti valley. Spend a night in hotel or in camp. |
DAY 12 | : | KAZA TO KIBBER (4270 mts): AND KI MONASTRY (4116 mts): Visit to Ki monastery and to highest village of Kibber in world. Night stay in Kaza. |
DAY 13 | : | KAZA TO MANALI (2050 mts): Drive to Manali includes going over to passes, Kunzum La (4550m) and Rohtang Pass (3978m).It is a whole day drive to Manali. Check in a hotel and spend a night there. |
